Contrasting Porches

Well Anna this is your day. We are finally back to a porch shot.

Today's shot was taken to illustrate the contrast between the old and the new. The open front porch to the closed confining balcony of the beast behind. (I am not letting any prejudice show am I?)

Unfortunately this was taken in the noon sun so it is very bright and shadowy. But you gotta take them when you see them.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

I love those houses, and unfortunately I am usually there at lunchtime also. There is a shot from Walnut St on my photo-a-week blog this week, taken as I was waiting for a friend at Bangkok City. I would love to do an early morning or late evening shoot, but I am apprehensive about going alone!

YAY...I love it! Thanks for putting one up for me and I love the contrasts here! How about a porch book?

Love the wrap around porches but if all you can get is a highrise balcony I'll take that too. Nice shot and I agree with Anna, how about a porch book?

That's a nice shot Mike! The contrast between the old and new is really good. I love porches, if I had a house I would definitely have one. That looks like a lovely place to sit.

Great study in contrasts there, between the two porch styles. I reckon if I lived on the 10th floor or something, I'd appreciate something to help keep me from falling off though.

Adding a little yellow in "high noon" shots while in Photoshop Elements helps soften them up a bit and makes them look a little more like golden hour shots.
