The Joy of Moody Skies

I love it when it clouds up. Clouds can add a lot to a picture. This shot was taken on the roadside when I was traveling to Shiprock, NM from Chama, NM. I was looking for a simple picture to capture the mood of the day which was a little on the stormy side.

Awesome picture!

Great textures in this picture. Keeping everything a little bit dark really helps set the stormy mood, too.

Beautiful moody clouds. A perfect setting for your picture. I like the lighting to show the stormy day.

Haven't commented in a while, but I've been looking! Wonderful shots from your trip. I need a vacation! (Guess I'll get to St. Louis and Warrensburg soon!)

Looks like a picture out of the wild, wild west.

Great shot! The strong elements of rock backed with the dark sky makes for a super photograph. I would frame this one!

I love clouds too. I've nixed many a sunset photo safari due to perfectly clear skies. Definitely need some clouds in most scenics, unless the foreground is as outstanding as your arch photos.

Wow....this is a very beautiful place where you live. But every place is different and I don't have to complain about my place.
