The Porches of Silverton, Colorado Part 1

Silverton was like a treasure trove of unique little front porches. Each house had it's own style of porch. Some like this one were decorative, others were more functional at 9,000+ feet There were absolutely no cookie cutter houses here.

This porch was nestled in a bunch of Colorado Blue Spruces and as all the front porches in Silverton had a great view.

I loved it when those porches were invisible, except for the door...
when 12-15' of snow meant the owner had to tunnel their way up to the porch.

Wild stuff... never seen anything like it since.

The inticate paint detailing is amazing. Makes it feel almost fairy tale-ish. Like, I'm not inclined to go stick my head in that lady's oven for fear of getting pushed in ;)

Also, love the lighting on this shot.

What a charming house and front porch. I want to pull up my rocking chair and spend some time.

What an adorable porch!

I think porches are the best part of a house... as long as there is room to sit on it.
