Mmmmm...Frybread

At the four corners park there are a lot of vendors set up selling food and goods. This was one of those attractions.
This past weekend my brother actually fixed frybread...Blackfeet style. It was good!
We are expected our first big snow today. Can't wait to see what happens!

Fry Bread. Not sure what it is. I asked my wife of 52 years and she said it might be dough that is dropped in hot grease or bread put in the skillet and browned in hot grease that was just used to fry bacon. It must be one of those.

Since I am 1/16th Native American, I was mostly interested in the Blackfeet version.

Do I even want to know what the Blackfeet version is? Hehehe. And I have never had frybread.

I am so sheltered.

Frybread? Now, I grew up in Arkansas, as did my father and his parents, and the co-worker on this trip with me grew up in Mississippi. Neither of us has heard of frybread.

If two southerners have never heard of something fried, then I'm not sure it exists.

Are you pulling our collective leg?

I can't believe you guys have never heard of frybread. The nearest thing I can think of to it is benieghs (sp?) New Orleans style, also Navahjo taco are made with frybread.

Abe's description was just about right on.
