Return to Linden Falls

Well you all have seen the color version of this picture in the header. Here is a black & white I have been playing with. This is the old mill site at Linden, Missouri. You can find it by turning south on Highway 125 from Highway 60 just west of Rogersville, Missouri and travel south about 4 miles to the Finley River crossing.

I wish they hadn't strung power lines accross the river right at this point. I guess that is why we have Photoshop.

I was just thinking what a great job Photoshop (or the great and free GIMP) could do with the clone tool.

Nice photo in b&w, too. We never saw this spot when we lived in SW Missouri.

By they way, thanks a lot for letting the Mizzou Tigers stomp my Razorbacks.

I love the color image.

Sometimes with a wide view like this one I think when it is done in black and white things get lost in the image. It is always fun to play arund and see which ones you like best!

Glad to hear that you are OK there! :)

Well, I thought to myself, "That looks like Bear's Mill pond and waterfalls. I took a series of photos of Bear's Mill, the only working water mill in Ohio and used them to write a magazine story. I have the series on my Flickr blog under that name. I think there is one or two photos there, like your photo today.

Neat shot...I like both B&W and color.

And power lines are ALWAYS getting in the way of my shots too!

Hi MiKe

Glad you also got through the storms safely, we had it pretty mild fortunately.

I love this picture, especially the color version. A bit of PS and you will have no power lines and a beautiful shot.

Keep warm we are on a cooling trend again!!!

Oh my word, Kerri mentioned power lines. Some of the most beautiful shots in China were ruined by lines and lines of power lines. But then there are the interesting photos I missed...the ones of men walking on those same power lines. Oh well. Such is life. :)
