Colorado Mission

I was driving along in Colorado and spotted the ruins of this mission or church. I am puzzled at this one as the building structure doesn't appear that old. As you can see it is gutted on the inside. I wonder if someone at somepoint applied some modern stucco materials in an effort to save something old.

The clouds really make this photo. One thing I loved about being out west was the clarity of the air. While I grew up in a relatively pollution-free area, the humidity still made a haze in the air that can't be fully understood until one goes out west.

It really looks modern to me too. I think it is not adobe and looks more like concrete. You might have a mystery on your hands.

The photo is very nice and the clouds are special.
