Kansas City Southern

The Kansas City Southern is a class 1 regional railroad that has managed to remain independent in the land of giants. While most railroads succumbed to mergers with Union Pacific, Burlington Northern, Canadian Pacific, or Norfolk Southern the KCS continues to ply its way from Kansas City, Missouri to Port Arther, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana. It has even managed to pick up some lines of its own, now stretching from Council Bluffs, Iowa to the Mexican Border and from Mississippi to the east and Dallas Texas to the west.

President Michael Haverty is a believer in tradition and this new paint scheme is a roll back to the famous Southern Belle passenger train.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I'm glad to see the Railroad picking up some new lines. Reading in the paper about the demise of the railway system has made me sad. Happy to see a sign of encouragement.
I do love the colorful engine.
