Railroad Trestle and Buildings at Harper's Ferry

Another shot of Harper's Ferry. If you look closely you will see a board mounted vertically on the building next to the hardware door above the display plaques. This board marks the floods that have inundated the small town over the years, some as recently as 2005. The very top of the board marks the level of the water for the 1939 flood.

Yes, this town has seen its share of floods. Good shots again, of course.

So, did you see any ads painted on the rocks on the opposite side of the river?

Holy Crap! Who would have thought to start something to represent the flood levels?

My brother & sister-in-law live in Harper's Ferry. It is one of the most beautiful towns in America. It still looks so much like a Civil War town that it was used as the locations for the scenes of Fredricksburg in the movie Gods and Generals. Thanks for the great shots.
