Women and Children Get Caught in War

Women are a big part of reenacting now. The Civil War in Missouri turned more into a border war with neighboring Kansas toward the end and after the war. Kansas leaned Union and Missouri leaned Confederate especially in the southern part of the state. Many residents in the Western Missouri counties were harassed, killed or burned out of their homes. More often than not the victims were women and children in this conflict.

Wow, she is really playing her part completely. Great portrait of a difficult time in our history.
