Looking to the Great American West

I love to stand on the Commercial Street Footbridge and look west. Missouri, St. Louis specifically is known as the Gateway to the West. Kansas City is often called the first western city and St. Louis is often called the last eastern city. My own personal demarcation is this bridge. From this point on everything seems to have a western flair.

As most of you know I love trains and this shot is so typical these days. The container train on the left and carries Chinese goods east. The train in the middle with the engine on the rear is an empty coal train heading back to the Powder River Basin in Wyoming.

This is the last shot from the Commercial Street Footbridge. I wanted to give you all a flair for going to one place and taking as many creative shots as you could. When I started with our local camera club we used to do this with our field trips.

Go out to one spot this weekend and take as many shots as you can.
