Signs of Fall - Grasses in Bloom

Many grasses send up their spires of seeds in the autumn. This particular grass is the variety known as Micanthis. I have always loved grasses. Their form is very useful in landscaping as they provide a contrast to your normal shrubs. They hold their interest until late winter when they need to be cut back. Aside from being divided, which can be a daunting task, they are a low maintenance plant.

I'm all for low maintenance plants. There are so many shades and styles of grasses that can enhance the yard. Have a great week Mike.
