These photos were taken last weekend at the Schell-Osage Conservation Area near Schell City, Missouri. I remember once coming here and there were thousands of water fowl flying it creating immense moving clouds of birds. This time there were very few. I remembered it was this time of year so we stopped by the headquarters so I could ask. They were wondering too! Normally on this weekend they would have 34,000 birds. The attendant said they counted just 3,400. They are as puzzled as I was. So the question remains...where are the ducks?
