The Visitor

Encountering nature in our neighborhood is not unusual, but it usually doesn't get quite this close. Tonight as Amy walked out of the house this small purple finch flew in. Apparently he had decided our small front porch was a good place to roost for the night and Amy startled it. It took about 20 minutes to coax it out of the house. We finally had to turn all the lights off in the house so it would fly toward the only light available the front porch light.

The little guy's favorite resting spot was the star on top of our Christmas Tree. So of course I had to grab a camera to capture the event. I am sure he was glad to get back outside and away from the two crazy humans chasing him around the house.

Glad your camera was close by to capture this little guy. What a cool addition to your tree topper.

Cute little guy ... the only think I have had fly into this house is a bat ... and Larry is deathy scared of bats ..... I eventually got it to find it's way out thank heavens. It is very eerie because they are so quiet when they fly.
